Dementia Awareness

29th June 2017

Last night, Llanelli Town Council hosted a Dementia Awareness Session for Town Councillors. As dementia rates are predicted to raise to over 1 million by 2025, raising awareness and understanding is vital. This is particularly the case in Carmarthenshire where the numbers of people living with Dementia are expected to double over the next 20 years. Thankfully, Llanelli is leading the way in many areas of dementia awareness. Earlier this year, Llanelli market became the first ‘Dementia Friendly’ market in Wales. You can learn more about Dementia by visiting the Dementia Friends website, where you can also find information about local organisations and other ways you can help.
